Nys Insurance Brokers License
To become a licensed insurance agent in NYS, you must complete the 90-hour pre-licensing training requirement for Property & Casualty under New York State Insurance Law. This part 1 segment covers Personal Lines Licensing and is 45 hours in length. NEW YORK INSURANCE PRELICENSING INFORMATION New York requires potential agents take and complete a state approved prelicensing course before taking their licensing exam.
New York State Approved Property and Casualty Agents/Brokers Pre-licensing Course NYS Department of Financial Services (DFS) has approved this course to satisfy the educational requirements for the “full” Personal and Commercial Lines Agents or Brokers State Licensing Test and License. Students must achieve a passing grade of 70% on the course final exam and attend the entire class in order to receive MCC’s Certificate of Completion. 100% attendance is mandatory.
Missed sessions can be made up in future classes. You will be given a basic survey of the insurance business. Introduction to fire insurance, inland marine and ocean marine, public, liability insurance and the law of negligence, automobile, liability and physical damage, workmen's compensation, accident and health fidelity and surety bonds, multiple peril and package policies, duties and obligations of an agent broker will also be covered.
